IEEE SIGHT Groups

SIGHT Groups consist of at least six IEEE members who come together to learn about sustainable development, foster relationships with their local communities, and leverage technology to address key issues in their local communities. Non-IEEE members are also invited and encouraged to participate in their local SIGHT Group. Each Group must be affiliated with an existing IEEE organizational unit, such as a Section or Student Branch.

The Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) program is a network of IEEE volunteers around the globe that partner with underserved communities and local organizations to leverage technology for sustainable development.

2026 IEEE SIGHT Group Activity Initiative 

The IEEE SIGHT Committee is excited to announce that applications for the 2026 SIGHT Group Activity Initiative are now open through 31 August!

For the first time, established and active SIGHT Groups can receive up to US$300 in funding to support their 2026 humanitarian technology activities. Funding categories have been refined to focus on what Groups need most: Events, Training & Professional Development, and Prototype & Project Development.
