About TechForGood Talk: Community Safeguards – Data Innovation for Safety & Wellbeing in Action
The IEEE Thailand Section SIGHT Group in collaboration with the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, held a seminar for those interested in using humanitarian technology to improve people’s quality of life.
Participants were able to meet representatives from two community innovators and learn about their humanitarian technology projects:
- OASYS LAB: Small telemetry system for flood warning “MixKey” (Mickey) installed and used in Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province.
- PODD (One Health Surveillance Center, Chiang Mai University): A digital system for reporting incidents and processing disease and disaster surveillance by communities. Currently, it is used in more than 200 local administrative organizations (LAOs) nationwide
