About Harvesting Hope in Action

The American Univ of Sharjah SIGHT Group (SBA61191S) at American University of Sharjah in the UAE applied and received IEEE Tech4Good funding to create a 12-session module teaching underprivileged youth about hydroponics, a sustainable farming method.The program provided fifty students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in hydroponic farming, enabling them to become agents of positive change within their communities. The initiative significantly improved the lives of disadvantaged students as the hydroponic systems offered access to nutritious meals. The project also equipped students with essential skills in sustainable agriculture, enhancing future opportunities to work in the agricultural technologies sector.
