About Funding Proposal Writing Workshop in Action
In May 2024, the Ghana SIGHT Section SIGHT Group organized a workshop focused on proposal writing for funding support. The hybrid event combined both in-person and online participation, engaging 7 attendees who were present physically and 33 participants who joined virtually. The workshop featured insightful presentations, discussions centered around IEEE humanitarian technologies, and provided excellent networking opportunities.
The primary goal of this workshop was to enhance participants’ skills and knowledge in crafting effective proposals to secure funding for their respective projects.
Participants were given an overview of IEEE humanitarian technologies, which included an in-depth look at their mission, vision, and strategic plans. These technologies are dedicated to addressing global challenges through innovative and impactful solutions.
While the workshop emphasized proposal writing, it also highlighted various IEEE Humanitarian Technologies Board (HTB) programs and opportunities. Additionally, Sophia, the SIGHT chair, shared valuable insights into both ongoing and future initiatives.
The workshop successfully educated participants on the nuances of effective proposal writing and familiarized them with the resources and opportunities offered by the IEEE Humanitarian Technologies Board. The hybrid format facilitated broader participation, which significantly enhanced the workshop’s reach and impact.
