Code2Cure 3.0 – SDC Technical Challenge

Loading Events

This Technical Challenge is the result of a strategic collaboration between Code2Cure Hackathon and the IEEE SIGHT Day Congress, two initiatives united by a shared commitment to leveraging technology for meaningful societal impact.
Code2Cure is collaborative effort between the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group of the Private Higher School of Engineering and Technology (ESPRIT) and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Branch Chapter of ESPRIT.
It is an AI and data science–driven hackathon dedicated to addressing critical challenges in healthcare and medicine. It encourages participants to design intelligent, data-informed solutions that contribute to the detection, prevention, monitoring, and improvement of health-related outcomes. By grounding innovation in real-world medical needs, Code2Cure promotes the development of practical, scalable technologies with the potential to support clinicians, researchers, and healthcare systems. The IEEE SIGHT Day Congress is a flagship IEEE event aligned with the mission of Technology for Social Good. It brings together students, young professionals, researchers, and practitioners to explore how engineering and innovation can address societal challenges. Each edition highlights key domains where technology can create inclusive, sustainable, and human-centered impact. The current edition – SDC 4.0 – places a particular emphasis on education and healthcare technologies, reinforcing the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in shaping resilient and equitable systems.
Through this collaboration, Code2Cure and the IEEE SIGHT Day Congress, supported by their organizing and technical partners, jointly present a Technical Challenge that aligns their shared values: innovation with purpose, evidence-driven problem solving, and social responsibility. Beyond its technical ambition, the initiative also reflects a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the empowerment of women in engineering, by highlighting contributions, achievements, and milestones of women driving innovation in technology, healthcare, and education.
The challenge is designed to empower participants to explore impactful ideas at the intersection of technology, healthcare, and education, while fostering collaboration, creativity, and ethical innovation. Through this inclusive approach, the initiative seeks to create a space where diverse perspectives, particularly those of women engineers and researchers, are recognized as key enablers of sustainable, human-centered solutions, without constraining innovation to a single predefined approach.
