The 2019 IEEE SIGHT Communications Subcommittee is Chaired by Dr. Pritpal Singh, a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Villanova University where he teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of semiconductor microelectronics, power electronics renewable energy systems, sustainable product development for low resource settings and information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D). Dr. Singh has been the IEEE SIGHT Education Subcommittee Chair for the last three years.
This subcommittee manages the following aspects of the IEEE SIGHT program:
- Creating a SIGHT toolkit
- Developing education requirement for SIGHT groups
- Facilitating basic understanding of community development
- Providing clear support and developing templates for SIGHT groups and SIGHT projects
- Providing education/exposure to mainstream development activities
