
2026 IEEE SIGHT Group Activity Initiative Now Open!
The IEEE SIGHT Committee is excited to announce that applications for the 2026 SIGHT Group Activity Initiative are officially open through 31 August!
💡 What’s New in 2026
For the first time, established and active SIGHT Groups can receive up to US$300 in funding to support their 2026 humanitarian technology activities. Funding categories now focus on what SIGHT Groups need most:
- Events — member engagement, community outreach, and tech for social impact foucused gatherings
- Training & Professional Development — skill-building for members and volunteers
- Prototype & Project Development — early-stage solutions and innovation
📝 Eligibility Highlights
To qualify, SIGHT Groups must:
- Be established for at least 12 months
- Actively report events and officers in IEEE vTools
- Follow the SIGHT Group Operations Handbook
- Submit only one application per calendar year
- Ensure that any Group funded in 2025 has submitted its final report before applying again
💰 Funding
- US$150— awarded to Groups that have reported at least two activities in IEEE vTools within the last 12 months
- US$150 — awarded to Groups that have reported their officers and at least six active IEEE members in vTools
