The first workshop of New Volunteers in SIGHT was held on February 24th in the Offices of IEEE Section El Salvador. Among the 24 attendees were students and Young Professionals. The students were encouraged to form groups in the student branches and to continue with the work already done.

The workshop was given by Rosa Mejía, SIGHT Representative 2016, 2017.

Attendees were able to learn about different techniques for forming community projects and solutions to needs of underserved communities in El Salvador. They also learned of the requirements to apply to humanitarian committee funds.

The result of the workshops were 6 formulated projects, which will be submitted to IEEE SIGHT between 2018 and 2019
